Halloween Magic Treats

It’s that time of year again and no matter how big they get they never get tired of Halloween treats.  My college age kids (well one college age student and one doctoral student) still love taking treats for their friends.

This year I have a little more time, so I thought I would decorate some cookies.  I just needed to come up with the perfect topper for the packaging.  The Hallows Night Magic Bundle was perfect for this!  I think some spider web sugar cookies will to round these out perfectly.

Beautiful World

Here is another creation for my husband’s family “fall birthday” celebration.  This one came together so quickly.  If you are looking for an easy way to design a card, the World of Good suite is the answer.  Between the stamp set and the thinlit dies, there are so many options.  The World of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper and the Old World Paper embossing folder make the perfect complements to complete any card.

Birthday By the Dock

After over 29 years, I retired from my “big-girl job” nine months ago.  One of the things I was most excited about was having more time for my Stampin’.  In that time I have purchased various products with grand ideas.  Of course, life is full of curve balls and I never have gotten a chance to really delve in and play.

Well, my husband’s family “fall birthday” gathering is coming up so I made time to make cards for his parents and each of his siblings.  I think this is one of my favorites.  A little water color technique using the Watercolor Paper and the Balmy Blue and Pool Party inks provide the perfect backdrop for the die cut scene.

Here’s to Old Friends

Since we had to put my mom in a home my dad has found himself having to take care of cards for all types of occaisions. Rather than go to the local store, he picks up the phone and gives me a call. It all started at Christmas when he wanted to send a few cards to friends so I gave him a stash to keep onhand to use when he thought of someone. Then there was his cousin’s birthday and my nephew’s graduaion. I was touched when he called me a couple days ago and asked if I could make a card for his long time friend and former business partner. I remember as a kid my dad and his friend always worked on car repairs together. So I pulled out the Geared Up Garage stamp set and set out to make something that reminded me of the times they had spent together. When I gave it to my dad, he even got a little choked up. I think I must have gotten it right.

It’s a Boy!

I was so excited to meet my new nephew! I came home, wrapped the gift and went to my card stash. Low and behold all I had was cards for baby girls. This would not do! Luckily I had just received my latest order with the Tufted textured embossing folder and the ??? hostess set. I pulled them out, put this card together and out the door I went (well I did snap a picture first.

Graduation Dreams

It’s that time of year when graduation parties are in full swing. I was trying to come up with something different and I had seen something where someone had put a graduation cap on the hot air balloon from Above the Clouds. Directions for making the graduation cap can be found at painted-orange.com.

Wedding Wishes

We had a wedding to attend for a long time work friend.  I pulled out the Springtime Impressions Thinlits and started playing.  I tried different textured backgrounds and found that the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder provided just the right texture to make the Springtime Impressions cutout.

Teen Boy Birthday

Sometimes I find that it can be hard to come up with a card for a teenage boy birthday.  However, this year, I found that The Detailed Deer thinlit provided the perfect jumping off point for my teenage nephew who loves to deer hunt.
